About QuoteSketch

Quotation software built around the quotation, not around the software.

QuoteSketch is an online quotation maker for growing businesses: one screen where a professional quotation is written, previewed and exported, and a set of saved details that mean you never write the same thing twice.

What QuoteSketch is

QuoteSketch is a browser-based tool for producing quotations. You fill in a form — your company, your customer, the items you are quoting, the pricing, the terms — and an A4 quotation document builds itself beside the form as you type. When it looks right, you print it or download it as a PDF.

It is deliberately a narrow product. It is not accounting software, a CRM, or an invoicing platform. It does one job in a business: producing the document you send to a customer when they ask what something will cost.

Why it was built

The way most small businesses write a quotation is to open the last one. The customer's name is replaced, the items are swapped, the prices are updated and the totals are worked out again — usually by hand, occasionally wrongly. The document drifts: a logo shifts, a table breaks across a page, last year's payment terms survive into this year's quote.

None of that is a formatting problem, it is a reuse problem. The information was already known. It had just been trapped in a document instead of kept somewhere it could be used again.

QuoteSketch was built to fix that specific thing: to hold your business information once, and to assemble the document from it every time you need one.

The problem it solves

  • Retyping. Company details, logo, bank details, standard terms and sales people are entered once and copied into every new quotation.
  • Re-entering customers and products. Clients and Items are saved as reusable records and added to a quotation from a search box, each item carrying its default price.
  • Arithmetic by hand. Line amounts, subtotals, discount, tax and the total are calculated as you type.
  • Documents that drift. Spacing, page breaks, page numbering and the totals block are handled by the product, so every quotation you send looks like it came from the same business.
  • Losing what you sent. Signed in, quotations are saved, can be reopened, revised into a new version while the original stays intact, and exported as JSON or CSV.

The product philosophy

Three ideas decide what goes into QuoteSketch and what stays out.

Simple

A quotation should be writable in one sitting by someone who has never seen the product before. There is no setup wizard and nothing to install; guest use needs no account at all. Features that require a manual do not earn their place.

Professional

The document is what the customer judges. The preview is the document, the PDF is the preview, and the layout decisions — margins, page breaks, the totals block, where the logo sits — are made once, properly, rather than left to whoever is typing.

Reusable

Every feature is measured against one question: does it save you entering something you have already entered? That is where saved companies, clients, items, preset subjects, sales people, templates and revisions come from. Reused information is always copied, never linked — once it is on a quotation it belongs to that quotation, and editing it there changes nothing you have saved.

Who QuoteSketch is for

QuoteSketch suits businesses whose quotations are the same shape every time, where only the customer and the numbers change: suppliers and distributors, contractors and trades, maintenance and service companies, IT and equipment resellers, consultants, design and creative studios, and freelancers.

It is less suited to organisations that need bid management, procurement workflows or a full sales pipeline. QuoteSketch stops at the quotation, on purpose.

Where the product is today

QuoteSketch is in active development. The quotation builder, the saved registries behind it, quotation settings, reference numbering, saved quotations, drafts, revisions, templates, print and PDF export, the in-app Help & Guide and support contact are all in place and usable.

Plans, prices and plan limits shown on the site are indicative and are still being finalised; the terms that apply to any paid plan are the ones presented at the point of purchase. If a detail on this site matters to a decision you are making, ask us rather than assuming.

How we decide

Four rules the product is held to

Stay narrow

QuoteSketch does quotations. Every request to make it also do invoicing, accounting or pipeline management is weighed against the cost of making the quotation harder to write.

Reuse beats re-entry

If a feature does not remove typing you have already done, it has to justify itself some other way. Most do not.

The document is the product

What your customer receives is the thing being made. The preview is the document, and the PDF is the preview — no surprises between the screen and the print.

Usable in the first minute

You can write a complete quotation before deciding whether to create an account. Setup is something you do when it starts paying for itself, not before.

The quickest way to judge it is to use it.

Open the Builder and write a quotation you actually need. No account, no card, nothing to install.
